Simply Cups is the UK’s first, and leading, nationwide cup collection and recycling scheme and was established, in 2014, to address the estimated 10 billion paper and plastic cups used and disposed of each year.
Simply Cups works directly with customers to help them efficiently segregate their cups before collecting, bulking and transporting them to reprocessors. These cups are not only diverted away from landfill or incineration, but the reprocessed material is then made into a wide range of functional and useful products, which can then be bought back by the customer.
Our ethos in creating demand
Nothing embodies the spirit of Simply Cups more than our range of products made from the used cups we collect. They instantly demonstrate the effectiveness of our service and proves to our clients, their employees and their customers that their efforts of putting their used cups in the right bin has tangible rewards.
Creating demand for locally manufactured products, that incorporate locally generated post-consumer material, is also an effective means of decoupling the value of recycled material from global commodity markets, which can fluctuate over time. By building on the growing demand for well-designed, high-end products, such as the rCUP, we add the necessary value to the recycling process to not only sustain, but also increase activity over time, regardless of the commodity market.
Products to Sustain the Service
By increasing product sales, we in turn increase the value of locally sourced post-consumer material in order to fund the expansion of our activities and also, in the long term, reduce Membership fees to a nominal amount. Therefore stimulating mass participation in the scheme and as such eradicating the issue.
As well as a growing number of products in our standard range, we can also offer a wide choice of customer-led product options. As well as branding possibilities on all products, we also have the ability to manufacture bespoke products, depending on minimum quantities, that can also incorporate the materials collected from the customer site.
